Dog-Harmony announces Kids & Canines: A Spring Break Camp

Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.—Calling all dog lovers! Dog-Harmony, a dog rescue and education organization in Santa Rosa Beach, announced that it will host a kids’ camp, called Kids & Canines, on March 22 from 1 to 5 p.m. to teach children how to interact with dogs, both in the home and out, and what a dog rescue does. The funds from the $50 per child camp will go towards the renovation of the nonprofit’s new building.

Children, ages five to 12, will break up into groups and rotate through different stations like dog-toy making, humane education, dog handling and dog-treat making. All supplies will be provided, and each child will take home what he or she has made.

The camp will take place inside Dog-Harmony’s new building—237 Market Street, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida—which was acquired in early February.

Dog-Harmony is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization in Santa Rosa Beach whose mission is to reduce the number of unwanted dogs at shelters through education, training, low-cost spay/neuter and microchipping. What makes Dog-Harmony different is that the focus is on training and support before, during and after the dog’s adoption, therefore building healthy, lifelong relationships between them and their humans.

Dog-Harmony announces Hops for Hounds

Dog-Harmony is excited to announce the newest dog walk and fun run in South Walton. Hops for Hounds, taking place February 17 at Grayton Beer Company, features a two-mile dog walk and one-mile kids’ fun run as well as an array of activities for the whole family, including the four-legged members. All proceeds from this event will go to Dog-Harmony to help keep tails wagging in the community. What could be better than taking a walk with your pup on a beautiful Saturday and then enjoying a fun packed after party at Grayton Beer Company for a good cause?

Hops for Hounds will start at 10 a.m. at Grayton Beer Company, make a pit stop at Idyll Hounds Brewing Company and circle back for the after party with food, live music and draft beer. The cost is $30.00 for one human and one hound to participate in the Dog Walk and $20.00 per entry for the kids’ fun run. Each registered person will receive a t-shirt, wag bag and those over 21 will get a draft beer in Grayton Beer Company’s Tap Room. Back Beach BBQ and Deep Dish Rescue will be onsite serving lunch and plan to donate a portion of proceeds to Dog-Harmony.

Dog-Harmony’s main goal is to build healthy relationships between humans and dogs to improve the lives of both and reduce the number of dogs placed in shelters. This event will aid in the funding of the local nonprofit’s many community programs, including humane education, spay/neuter services, microchipping clinics and, of course, adoption services.

“We have been blown away by all the support we have already received for this event. We look forward to the community coming out with their hounds to support our mission,” said Nancy Bown, Founder of Dog-Harmony.

This event would not be possible without the many generous sponsors of Hops for Hounds, such as Grayton Beer Company, The Hive Creative Consulting, Destin-30A Mom’s Blog, Community Broadcasters, LLC. and many others. Furbo Dog Camera recommended for dog-lover present this holiday season

Need the perfect present for your dog loving friend? Try the Furbo Dog Camera! It’s the only pet camera that’s designed for dogs. It lets dog-parents see, talk and toss treats even when they’re not home.

The designers received input from over 5,000 dog parents, experts, trainers and vets to meet dog-specific needs, including:
A Barking Alert- When it detects your dogs barking, Furbo sends a notification to your smartphone.
Clicker Training- Furbo makes a “clicking” sound before tossing a treat.
Blue and Yellow Light Status Indicators- Using the colors dogs can see (yellow and blue), Furbo’s light indicator changes from yellow to blue to attract your dog’s attention.

It’s also compatible with Amazon Alexa, so you can toss treats or schedule treat tossing through voice command.

Furbo Dog Camera is beautifully designed to blend with home aesthetics, and goes hardly noticeable when it’s not shooting out treats. And, whether you have a larger dog or a scrappy puppy, Furbo’s natural bamboo wooden cover sits perfectly flush at the top of Furbo to make sure your smart pup can’t get their paws on all the treats.

Furbo can be purchased online and through Amazon and Furbo’s official website.

Use Dog-Harmony’s promo code (FURBOHARMONY) for an additional $15 off Furbo.
