Despite what some trainers may tell you, prong and shock collars are ineffective and inhumane training tools. They can hurt your dog and the special relationship that you and your dog share.
Here at Dog-Harmony, we have taken a pledge to promote the use of humane alternatives and work to have prong and shock collars banned from our area.
To help with this, we have established a program to teach pet owners about better options for their dog. “Swap It Out” allows those who are using prong and shock collars to test out more effective methods. Pet owners just need to bring in their prong or shock collar to Dog-Harmony. We will dispose of the ineffective training tool and replace it with a front-hook harness (just one of many other options). In addition to the free training tool, Nancy Bown, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) and Dog-Harmony’s founder, will provide a free leash-walking lesson at Dog-Harmony Headquarters, 3906 U.S. Highway 98 W, Unit 34, Santa Rosa Beach.
