Dog-Harmony's Next Therapy Dog Class & Testing Dat

Dog-Harmony's Next Therapy Dog Class & Testing Dates 🐾

Dog-Harmony’s four-week Therapy Dog Classes & Testing program prepares dog-and-handler teams for official therapy dog evaluation through Intermountain Therapy Animals (ITA). This hands-on program covers key skills, safe handling, therapy-dog etiquette, and expectations for working in hospitals, schools, libraries, and community settings.

The $195 class fee includes ITA’s Therapy Team Training Manual for Affiliated Organizations. Following class instruction and the mandatory Zoom session with ITA evaluator Merilee Kelly, participants will receive support with testing, completing application materials, and shadowing therapy-dog visits (without their dogs) to build confidence and readiness.

Class Dates:
- April 10, 17, and 24 at Pet Supplies Plus (11:00 AM–12:00 PM)
- Mandatory Zoom Session: May 1 with Merilee Kelly (11:00 AM–1:00 PM)
- Testing, Application Assistance, and Shadowing (without dog): May 2–June 5

The best listeners have four paws 🐶🐾

Our R.E.A.D program helps children build confidence while reading, with a gentle furry friend alongside them!

📍On Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Fort Walton Beach Library, your child can have the chance to read to our trained furry friends from 10:30 AM to 12:45 PM.

Registration is required. You can sign up at Fort Walton Beach Library in person or by phone: (850) 833-9590.

Suggested ages are 4-12, and your children must be learning to read or already be reading. 📖

Parents must stay with their children, and each visit lasts 20 minutes.
