Therapy Dog Classes & Testing

Dog-Harmony’s four-week Therapy Dog Classes & Testing program prepares dog-and-handler teams for official therapy dog evaluation through Intermountain Therapy Animals (ITA). This hands-on program covers key skills, safe handling, therapy-dog etiquette, and expectations for working in hospitals, schools, libraries, and community settings.

The class fee includes ITA’s Therapy Team Training Manual for Affiliated Organizations. Following class instruction and the mandatory Zoom session with ITA evaluator Merilee Kelly, participants will receive support with testing, completing application materials, and shadowing therapy-dog visits (without their dogs) to build confidence and readiness.

Dates:

• January 15, 23, and 30 at Pet Supplies Plus (11:00 AM–12:00 PM)
• Mandatory Zoom Session: February 6 with Merilee Kelly (11:00 AM–1:00 PM)
• Testing, Application Assistance, and Shadowing (without dog): February 7–28

Cost: $195 (includes the Intermountain Therapy Animals Training Manual)
