Ranger, a two-year-old Black Labrador Retriever, rules over The Henderson as Canine Ambassador while his dad, David Mars, serves as General Manager of the resort.

Ranger reports to the office daily to perform his ambassador duties with a work ethic only a Labrador can display. While every day is different, he always starts each day by greeting his co-workers and checking each office for snacks. The Henderson team has bonded over their mutual love for Ranger and his goofy personality, so you could say that Ranger is paws-down everyone’s favorite co-worker.

As a dog-friendly resort, The Henderson is lucky to have Ranger as the resident expert on the best pet friendly activities on the resort and in the surrounding area. Ranger was named as a nod to neighboring Henderson Beach State Park, and he loves nothing more than strolling the nature trails after a long day in the office. You may also catch Ranger and his co-workers enjoying the Sunset Terrace, or spending time in The Henderson lobby. Lobby visits are an almost daily occurrence for Ranger, and he is always ready to welcome guests with a wagging tail, smile on his face.

When Ranger is not at the office, he likes to enjoy the area like a true local. You may spot him and his family at a local farmers market on the weekend, enjoying the ocean breeze during a jaunt on Scenic Highway 98, or sniffing out a new dog-friendly restaurant in Destin. After all, he’s been working like a dog all week.
