Miramar Beach, Fla. - Dog-Harmony’s 8th Annual Wag the Flag, a patriotic doggie social and costume contest to kick off summer, will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 18 at Grand Boulevard at Sandestin.

All pups can enjoy plenty of summer activities, such as bobbing for hot dogs, taking a dip in a bone-shaped pool, and participating in a treat catching contest with fun prizes, at the event.

With a $15 donation, humans can enter their dogs in the Most Patriotic Pup costume contest where they will stroll the red, white and blue carpet and receive professional photographs sponsored by Mills Photo Design. Attendees may pre-register for the costume contest on EventBrite.

“Our annual event fundraisers at Grand Boulevard directly support our humane education and therapy dog programs designed to enrich the bonds between dogs and humans,” says founder, Nancy Bown, CPDT-KA. “By strengthening these bonds, we effectively help dogs rescue people and stay out of our overcrowded shelters.”

For humans, there will be libations, a silent auction, and a chance drawing. JC’s Gourmet will be serving its delectable smoked Somethin' Snappy and Poppin' Pimento cheese appetizers.

This event is presented as part of the Coastal Culture Series made possible by the Grand Boulevard Arts & Entertainment Program.
