Announcing New READing Paws Partnership with Fort

Announcing New READing Paws Partnership with Fort Walton Beach Library! 📚 🐾

Experience one-on-one reading with a trained therapy dog on Saturday, January 31, between 10:30 am and 12:45 pm at the FWB Library! Each child will have 20 minutes to read with a therapy dog in the READing Paws program.

Registration is required in person or by calling the library directly at 850-833-9590.

Suggested ages: 4-12. The child should be able to read or already be learning to read.

Parents must remain with their children.

2025 Impact Report: Making a Difference Together ❤️ 🐾

Thanks to the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, Dog-Harmony continues to strengthen the bond between people and dogs across Northwest Florida through education, therapy-dog services, and family-support programs.

2025 Year-to-Date Impact:
• 4,687 children reached through humane education programs
• 1,687+ hours of therapy dog team visits to hospitals, schools, and nonprofits
• 89 hours of donated dog training to help keep dogs in their homes
• $6,890+ in dog food and supplies distributed to families in need
• 14 new therapy dog teams evaluated
• 8 therapy dog teams renewed

Demand for Dog-Harmony’s programs continues to grow, and it far exceeds our current resources. With additional funding, we can expand access to these vital services and bring comfort, healing, and education to even more individuals and families.

Bark for Books is back for the spring semester!

Join Dog-Harmony and the Walton County Coastal Library for Bark for Books—a tail-waggingly fun way for kids to build confidence by reading aloud to a friendly therapy dog!

Held every Wednesday from 3:30–4:30 PM, January 14 through May 20, this unique literacy program gives children the chance to practice their reading skills in a calm, pressure-free environment—paired with one of our trained therapy dogs.

Reading to a nonjudgmental, furry friend helps children improve fluency, build self-esteem, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

This program is made possible through the generous support of the @stjoecommunityfoundation.

📆 Wednesdays, January 14 – May 20, 2026
⏰ 3:30–4:30 PM

Join Dog-Harmony for our 6th Annual Hops for Hounds at @propsbreweryhb at Hammock Bay on Sunday, January 18, from 1–3 p.m. The weather looks great for a fun dog walk and a dog-friendly brewery hangout—made for pups, people, and whole families!

Tickets are $30 in advance ($35 day of), and every step you take helps support Dog-Harmony’s therapy dog and education programs.
