What a pawsitive afternoon at the Fort Walton Beac

What a pawsitive afternoon at the Fort Walton Beach Public Library! 🐾

On June 4, kids ages 7–12 joined us for our Canine Body Language Class, where they learned how to safely interact with dogs and recognize basic canine body language — including signs of stress.

Our therapy dog Chloe gave participants a chance to practice what they learned. The kids asked politely before petting and offered treats palms up — and Chloe answered with tail wags, kisses, and lean-ins (a crowd favorite). She went home with a very full belly of treats! 😂 🐾

Thank you to the smart, kind kids and their parents who joined us, to the Fort Walton Beach Public Library for hosting, and to @browndogtracks and her handler for demonstrating what a calm, confident therapy dog looks like.

Students celebrated their completion of the READing Paws program alongside therapy dog Millie and volunteer Wanda. Through reading practice in a calm, supportive environment, children build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and discover the joy of reading. 📖🐾
