The Forever Dog Book Cover

The dog community has long anticipated the release of the book, The Forever Dog: Surprising New Science to Help Your Canine Companion Live Younger, Healthier, and Longer by Rodney Habib and Dr. Karen Shaw Becker. Anticipated to make the New York Times bestseller list, this book is already sold out in several countries.

The book focuses on the important role that diet and nutrition play in the everyday health of your furry friend. One of my favorite pieces of content on the website is a short video discussing the myths of the toxicity of fresh garlic and the incorrect assumption that it should not be fed to dogs. The website also offers a downloadable PDF of other toxic food myths, information on dealing with pain in dogs, recipes for treats, and more.

Dr. Karen Shaw Becker has been in the veterinary industry for decades, and she is a vocal proponent of preventative medicine and holistic approaches in caring for dogs. She is well known in the community for her passionate views on feeding your pet fresh food, rather than store bought kibble. Becker holds certifications in homeopathy, acupuncture and rehabilitation, and she is the first veterinarian to give a TEDx Talk on biologically-oriented nutrition.

Rodney Habib is an internet celebrity, animal activist, and founder of Planet Paws, which is regarded as the world’s largest pet health page on Facebook. Habib began his career running Planet Paws as a local pet store in Nova Scotia in 2011, before gaining a massive online following through the use of his blog and Facebook page to promote the company. He is now sought after for advice on pet health and wellness.
